Amazon MAP compliance monitoring and competitive intelligence for authorized sellers and brand partners.

Takes about 5 minutes to read.

What is pricemaps?

pricemaps is an Amazon seller intelligence platform built for authorized dealers and brand partners. It continuously monitors your product catalog and gives you answers to four core questions:

  1. Who's violating MAP? — Which sellers are pricing below your Minimum Advertised Price, on which products, and by how much.
  2. Am I winning the Buy Box? — Where you hold the Buy Box, where you're losing it, and why (FBA advantage, lower price, seller metrics).
  3. Are there pricing opportunities? — Products with low competition, strong demand, or room for margin.
  4. What changed since yesterday? — New violations, resolved violations, price movements, seller activity.

Data is refreshed automatically on a continuous cycle. You can also trigger an immediate refresh on any individual product.

Dashboard — Your Home Base

Everything lives on the Dashboard. It's a single, unified view of your entire catalog with powerful filtering.

Filters

  • Search — Search across ASIN, product name, brand, seller, or SKU. Results update as you type.
  • Brands — Multi-select dropdown. Pick one or more brands to narrow the view.
  • Groups — Multi-select dropdown. Product groups are families of related products (e.g., "Burton Custom").
  • Sellers — Single-select typeahead with search. Shows top 15 sellers by offer count, with the rest alphabetical. When MAP mode is on, each seller shows a red violation count and the dropdown opens with a "Top Violators" section — sellers sorted by number of active violations.

All filters are reflected in the URL. You can bookmark a filtered view or share the link.

Toggle Buttons

  • MAP — Switches to compliance mode (violations, MAP prices). Off by default — the app starts in market intelligence mode. Turning MAP on also activates Violations Only automatically. See MAP Mode vs Pricing Mode.
  • Violations Only — Only appears when MAP is on (auto-activated with MAP). Can be toggled off independently to see all products with MAP highlighting. When combined with a seller filter, shows only products where that specific seller is violating.
  • No Buy Box — Filters to products without an active Buy Box — either suppressed by Amazon (sellers exist but price is hidden) or out of stock (no sellers at all). Also includes products that haven't been scraped yet.
  • Collapse Groups — Rolls up individual products into one row per product group. Great for scanning product families at a glance.

Stat Cards

The four stat cards below the filters change based on your current context. In MAP mode you'll see violation counts and compliance rates. In pricing mode you'll see average prices, price ranges, and seller counts. The stats are fully filter-aware — they update to reflect your current filters, including Violations Only and No Buy Box toggles.

Quick Actions

  • Click a brand, group, or seller in the table to instantly filter to it.
  • Click an ASIN or SKU to copy it to your clipboard.
  • Click a product name to open the product detail page.

MAP Mode vs Pricing Mode

MAP Mode (ON)

  • Violations highlighted in red
  • Stat cards show violation counts
  • Charts show violation trends
  • "Violations Only" toggle available
  • Seller dropdown shows violation counts and "Top Violators"
  • AI summaries focus on compliance

Pricing Mode (OFF)

  • Focus on buy box competition
  • Stat cards show pricing data
  • Charts show price trends
  • FBA vs FBM dynamics visible
  • Seller dropdown shows offer counts
  • AI summaries focus on market intelligence

Products without a MAP price are always fully tracked regardless of mode — you'll see pricing, buy box, sellers, and rank data for every product.

Understanding the Table

Columns

Use the Columns dropdown to show/hide columns. Your selection is saved to your browser. Default visible columns: Brand, MAP, Buy Box, Lowest New, Buy Box Seller, Violations.

Additional columns available: SKU (click to copy), Lowest FBA, Amazon Price, List Price, Seller Count, All Sellers (hover for full list), FBA Sellers, Sales Rank, Rating, Reviews, Last Updated.

Color Coding

  • Red price — Below MAP (only when the product is in stock — out-of-stock products are not flagged)
  • Green price — At or above MAP (compliant)
  • Amber "Suppressed" — Buy Box is suppressed by Amazon (sellers exist but price is hidden)
  • Gray "Out of Stock" — No sellers available
  • Light red row — Product has active violations

Sorting & Pagination

Click any column header to sort. Click again to reverse. Use the page size buttons (10 / 25 / 50 / 100 / 250) at the bottom to control how many rows you see. On mobile, defaults to 10 rows. Sorting, pagination, and all filter changes preserve your scroll position — the page never jumps to the top.

Charts

Charts appear between the stat cards and the table. They adapt based on your filter context:

  • Default / Brand / Group view — Violation trend (or price trend if MAP off), Buy Box distribution, Sales Rank trend, Seller count trend
  • Seller view — Violation trend, Buy Box win history, Sales Rank, Seller count
  • Single product — Price history (Buy Box + Lowest New + MAP line), Sales Rank

Controls

  • Date range — 7D / 30D / 90D / All buttons on each chart. Your selection persists across pages.
  • Hide / Show — Click "Hide" on the first chart to collapse all charts. A "Show Charts" button appears to bring them back. This preference persists across pages too.

Product Detail Page

Click any product name in the table to open its detail page. Here you'll find:

  • Status badgeCompliant, MAP Violation, Out of Stock, or No MAP
  • Price history chart — Buy Box price (blue), Lowest New (orange), MAP line (red dashed)
  • Sales rank chart — Lower is better (y-axis inverted)
  • Current sellers table — Every seller with their price, shipping, fulfillment type (FBA/FBM), and whether they hold the Buy Box
  • Violation history — All past and present MAP violations on this product, with resolution status
  • Price history table — Last 20 price snapshots

Use the Refresh Now button to trigger an immediate data update for this product (instead of waiting for the next scrape cycle).

Key Terms

MAP (Minimum Advertised Price)
The lowest price an authorized dealer can publicly display for a product. Set by the brand. Selling below MAP can result in losing authorized dealer status.
Buy Box
The "Add to Cart" button on an Amazon product page. Only one seller wins it at a time. Most sales go through the Buy Box, so winning it is critical.
Buy Box Suppressed
Amazon hides the Buy Box entirely — customers must click "See All Buying Options." This usually happens when Amazon thinks the price is too high. Not the same as a violation. Shown as amber "Suppressed" in the Buy Box column.
Out of Stock
No sellers are currently offering the product on Amazon. Shown as gray "Out of Stock" in the Buy Box column. Out-of-stock products are not counted as MAP violations even if their last known price was below MAP.
FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon)
Seller ships inventory to Amazon's warehouse. Amazon handles storage, packing, and shipping. FBA sellers have a significant Buy Box advantage.
FBM (Fulfillment by Merchant)
Seller handles their own warehousing and shipping. Lower fees but harder to win the Buy Box against FBA competitors.
MAP Violation
The Buy Box price is below MAP. pricemaps tracks which seller is responsible. One violation per product at a time — it's resolved when the seller complies, loses the Buy Box, or the product goes out of stock.
MAP Listing Violation
The lowest new listing price is below MAP, even if the Buy Box itself is compliant. Indicates a seller is listing low but hasn't won the Buy Box yet. If the same product also has a Buy Box violation, the listing violation is auto-resolved since it's redundant.
Sales Rank
Amazon's measure of how well a product is selling in its category. Lower number = more sales. A rank of 1 means it's the #1 seller in that category.

Importing Products

Head to the Tools page to add products.

Two Ways to Import

  • Bare ASINs — Paste a list of ASINs (one per line or comma-separated). pricemaps auto-detects this and treats each as a new product. Title and brand will populate automatically on the next scrape.
  • Spreadsheet rows — Copy rows from Excel/Google Sheets with a header row. pricemaps auto-matches columns (ASIN, Name, MAP, SKU, Brand, Group). If it can't match a column, you'll get a mapping UI to assign them manually.

The Import Flow

  1. Paste your data and click Preview Import
  2. Review the preview table — each row shows its status (New, Update, Error, Delete)
  3. If there are errors, click Download Report to get a CSV with every row and its status. Fix errors in the CSV and re-paste.
  4. Choose: Apply All, Add New Only, or Update Existing Only

Clearing Field Values

To remove a field's value from an existing product, type CLEAR in that cell (case-insensitive). This works for:

  • MAP — Removes MAP price (stops MAP monitoring for that product)
  • SKU — Removes SKU
  • Brand — Removes brand association
  • Group — Removes product group
  • Name — Resets to the Amazon title (if available) or the ASIN

Blank cells always mean "don't touch" — they never overwrite existing data. Only CLEAR explicitly removes a value. The preview table shows cleared fields in red italic so you can verify before importing.

Notes

  • Admin password required — Imports and manual product refreshes require an admin password. Enter it at the top of the Tools page — it's saved in your browser.
  • ASINs must be valid format (B0 + 8 characters, or 10-digit ISBN)
  • Blank fields won't overwrite existing data — only filled fields update
  • Set Action = delete on a row to soft-delete that product
  • Deleted products can be reactivated by importing them again

AI Summaries

The purple AI Summary button on the dashboard opens a side panel that generates an AI-powered briefing of your current view.

  • Context-aware — The summary adapts to your active filters. Viewing a specific brand? The AI analyzes that brand. Filtered to a seller? You get a seller investigation report. No brand filter? You get a brand-vs-brand comparison.
  • MAP-aware — With MAP on, the summary focuses on compliance and violations. With MAP off, it focuses on buy box competition, pricing trends, and market opportunities.
  • Time range — Choose Today, This Week, or This Month for the analysis window.
  • Streaming — The response streams in real-time so you can start reading immediately.
  • Daily limit — 20 summaries per day. The counter shows your current usage below the generate button.
  • History — Every summary is saved. The last 5 appear in the panel. Full history is available on the Tools page.

Exports

All exports download as CSV files that open in Excel or Google Sheets.

From the Tools Page

  • Products Report — Full catalog with current pricing, MAP, brand, group, all sellers, and status. Mirrors your active dashboard filters (brand, group, seller, violations, no buy box).
  • Pricing Snapshot — Current prices for all products with violation data
  • Violations Snapshot — Only products with active violations

From the Activity Page

  • Activity Log CSV — Last 180 days of all activity (scrapes, violations detected, violations resolved)

Tips & Tricks

  • Bookmark filtered views — Filters are saved in the URL. Bookmark your most-used views for one-click access.
  • Collapse Groups to scan product families quickly — see the worst violation and lowest price across an entire group in one row.
  • Seller + Violations Only is powerful — filter to a specific seller, turn on Violations Only, and you see exactly which products that seller is undercutting on. If they're clean, the table is empty.
  • Top Violators — With MAP on, open the Sellers dropdown. The top section sorts sellers by violation count so you can instantly see who has the most violations.
  • Chart preferences persist — Set your preferred date range (7D/30D/90D/All) or hide charts on one page, and it applies everywhere.
  • Column preferences persist — Customize which columns show once, and your layout is remembered.
  • Download Report on import — If your import has errors, download the full report. Fix errors directly in the CSV and re-paste the corrected version.
  • Works on mobile — The dashboard is fully responsive. Charts default to hidden on mobile, stat cards stack to 2 columns, and page size defaults to 10 rows for faster browsing.
